Untitled (Three Walls) examines identity, language as inheritance or environmental influence, and conversational relationships. Born in Canada, I am incapable of answering this questionnaire because of my inability to speak and read Khmer—the official language of Cambodia. My father's identity is projected on the left, my identity is projected in the center, and my mother's identity is projected on the right. As white typed and handwritten texts appear from the black background, the sounds subtly exude the language barrier as well as a sense of time in the act of trying to understand and speak to one another.
